Hi,
A nice gal name Lori suggested I join this subgroup. I thought I'd introduce myself and my kiddo - Romeo! He just found out that he has diabetes about a week and a half ago. We are both still learning the lingo, but we're using the Lantus, so here we are!

Romeo says "hi"!

Sara

Welcome, Sara and Romeo!

This is a wonderful place, lots of great people and a ton of information... There's a lot of learning that goes into using Lantus - take some time to read the stickies at the top of the main Lantus page when you get a chance. There's info on the protocol we follow as well as instructions for how to set up a spreadsheet and profile so that we can see how your little guy is doing and answer your questions based on the data you collect.

And feel free to ask lots of questions!

I think you'll like it here

Hi there,

welcome to the Lantus forum.
You're first stop will be to read and print out if you can, the starred stickies at the top.
You will need to learn about how to use Lantus, how to do a curve, how to store your Lantus, etc...Please take some time to read the stickies.
Most importantly, the Protocol stickie we use in this forum.

This foum is a data collecting forum, and one of the best ways for others to advise you is by having a spreadsheet using Google documents.
Please set that up when you can. A profile of your kitty will also be helpful to others, or else we will ask you the same questions over and over. You'll need to included your kitty's health issues, date of diagnosis, diet and any other related info.
Please follow these links for that: How To Create A Profile
Spreadsheet Set Up

Also, the Lantus forum is a one thread per day - per kitty forum. As you can see it is a very active forum and keeping one thread per day makes it easier to follow your updates. Anytime you post or have a reply to your thread/condo it will get "bumped" to the top.

I'm just adding quick links to your previous health threads so others can look back.

Please have a look around at other threads/condos (slang for thread) and spreadsheet links in people's signature, this will help you get an idea of how to post here and you'll also learn how others are coping.

Welcome from Nicole and Napoleon!
You are in great hands here. Wishing you and Romeo lots of luck and remission using Lantus. It's a great insulin! cat_pet_icon

Welcome to Lantus Land (LL)

Ronnie covered all of the basics. The Lantus forum is very testing/data oriented. In order to provide you with the best help and support possible, it is important to get a spreadsheet (SS) up and running as soon as you can. A Profile will help us know about you and Romeo and also stop us from asking you the same questions over and over and over again.

Please let us know if you have questions.

Welcome! You'll get great info here. I've been here for a couple months and can't imagine where we'd be if I hadn't found the board. See you around!

Welcome to LL! You will finds loads of info and help here. Start out getting your spreadsheet and profile set up. Otherwise we will be pestering you with the same questions over and over. Like: are you home testing; canned or dry food; is it low carb; what is his dose and where are the pix? We gotta have pictures of him. It helps to let us know generally where you are too, time zones and there may be members in your area who can help.

You will have information overload at first, but you'll catch on fast. This site is the best thing you can be doing for Romeo!

Hi Sara and Romeo! AND WELCOME ABOARD!!! You have found the best place ever to help you and Romeo with FD. Very caring, committed and knowledgeable folks here. I won't add to all that has been said already, short of to say - welcome!

You guys are all AWESOME! Thanks for the amazing feedback. I will get started on reading through the "stickies?!" and creating a spreadsheet. Right now, I'm just looking at my beautiful boy who is obviously feeling 1000% better. Thank goodness!

I'll be back and will be able to answer more of your questions in a few days. Yes, he's now eating high protein, wet food. :)
Sara (and Romeo), and well, Juliet is feeling left out, so she says hi, too!
