Trying this again... this is the third attempt. I keep being asked to log in and then the post is lost. Ugh.
We are back to reds and blacks as of the evening of 4/27, but this has coincided with a loss in appetite and jumpiness on her part. My vet wanted me to give her subQ fluids last night plus a dose of buprenorphine to see if we saw any improvements, and it did help because this AM she felt much more comfortable and ate mostly normally with only minimal prodding to return to the food bowl. So, the conclusion is we are dealing with a pancreatitis flareup in addition to IBD. We haven't done a PLI or spec fPL, but have decided against that for now as she's already had several blood tests this week and is still quite anemic, so the more blood taken will only add to that problem. If she gets worse we'll do the tests next week, but will give her a few days to recover from her last big vet visit on Wednesday. The good news is that her stools, while soft, have not had visible blood for the past two times. Yeah! We have increased her flagyl and added another antibiotic for more broad-spectrum coverage so are hoping that will help keep her from getting sicker. I plan to do a curve today and will do another either Saturday or Sunday. Am hoping to see a better pattern, but if her pancreas is inflamed control could be tricky. Am sticking with 1.5U for now and will see how the curves go.
AMPS = 548, gave 1.5U
+2.5 = 383
+4 = 317
+6 = 205
+8 = 177
PMPS = 523 test 1, 451 test 2 (do you average?), gave 1.5U
