Hello friends! This is a long overdue update for Sasha and myself.....where does the time go?
In any case, life has gotten the best of me recently. Some good, some not so good. I've been here in LL in lurk mode as often as I can be to keep up with what has been going on. Most of the time I'm on my phone, though, and I truly hate posting from it so I never do. I know I've missed lots of things, but I've been thinking about all of you and your kitties every day.
Sasha is just the happiest kitty these days and therefore I am the happiest bean. She celebrated her 18th birthday on May 5th, and we had a little party at the vet's office in her honor (they made her a card with her picture and a sombrero on her head in honor of Cinco de Mayo....it's hysterical!). Nothing much new health-wise to report (yay!!!), outside of some very mild hypertension. She started on amlodipine about 3 months ago and it's working perfectly. I think the high BP may be because of the Budesonide, but I suppose it also could be because of her CRI, although that has been steady and not progressing really at all in the last 6 months (knock wood). I've been so busy that I haven't updated her labs from the end of May in her SS yet - and anyone who knows me knows how crazy I am about collecting and charting lab data. Everything is just about the same as the blood work before that. Fingers crossed we have the same results next month too.
She still spoils me by eating her pills like they were treats, even after all of these years. Her BGs are still nice and steady, usually all blue and green with a hint of light yellow once or twice a month just for kicks. Our spreadsheet is ridiculously out of date
. She's on a little shy of a 2u dose right now. Her bean (aka me  ) really doesn't think much about BGs anymore. Crazy, right? As long as she is healthy and happy then I am just fine with whatever number she throws, but she does love Lantus still and it loves her too apparently.
Here are some recent picture of my baby kitty (she will always be my baby kitty, no matter how old she gets!):

I'm going to make a conscious effort to visit (and post) in some condos this week, as well as answering the 50 PMs that I have let pile up over the months. So don't be surprised if you get responses to something you sent me in April. ;-)
Time to feed her, or she might just try and bite my ankles off with her toothless mouth. She got me good on my arm the other day when we were playing - it's amazing how hard those gums get after they heal!
Hugs to you all and scritches too - to the cats of course.
