Sad Rosemary Update

I'd posted before for advice as I was taking on a new diabetic foster, Rosemary, and working on getting her diet switched. I just wanted to let the kind folks who had helped know that unfortunately we had to let Rosemary go last week.

She had a wound on her foot that, despite intensive care and consultation with our vet, we were not able to get to heal. We're not sure what caused it or how much her diabetes was a factor, but we reached a point where we had to choose between amputation and euthanasia. With her age, arthritis, and inability to heal her original foot wound, we decided that amputation was not practical or fair to her and we decided to let her go.

I think her last several weeks with me were fairly good ones despite her foot problems. Thank you again for your support and advice.

Sorry to hear that she didn't make it despite your best efforts! It was wonderful of you to give her a good last few weeks and to release her from pain.

Oh (((Kait))), I’m so sorry to hear. Poor, sweet Rosemary. You did such a wonderful job caring for her. I’m sure she felt your love and care in her last weeks with you. Thank you for all you did to make her feel better.
May you have comfort in knowing you did everything you could for her.
Sending you gentle hugs and support for healing ❤️
