It is with great sadness, but also with peace of mind that our Fine Big Cat is free of his afflictions, that Edward and I must tell you that Rusty is flying free. I can't write more now, but will later.
Please wish our boy a good journey to The Bridge, as he begins his new adventure and is reunited with all of his old friends.

Fly Free, Little Owl, Little Lion, our Fine Big Cat. You are much loved and will always be here with us. :rb_icon:

My heart aches with yours. I am so very sorry. I have no doubt that Stu has found Rusty and they are together, along with all of our beloved kitties, waiting at the Bridge.

Oh, {{{Ella}}} and {{{Edward}}}

I am so deeply saddened to learn that it was Rusty's time to cross the bridge. He was an exceptional cat who had a place in the hearts of everyone who ever read his condo. Ella, you were always a true inspiration to me as I struggled with this horrible disease and watched how you cared for Rusty and kept him as happy and comfortable as possible. Hearts are broken all over L & L land today. he will be deeply missed by everyone in this community. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm so sorry, Ella and Edward. Rusty always had a special place in my heart as soon as you rescued him. Such a handsome, dignified, and fluffy kitty. The photos and stories you shared were always wonderful. Rusty will be remembered fondly by everyone who saw and read about him. I hope your burden of sadness is lightened by the love he brought to you as well as the joy he brought to those of us who met him online.

Oh Ella I am so sorry to hear about Rusty. He was such a special boy and had so many adventures and now he is going on to new adventures at the bridge. Im sure eith him and Stu together our kitties are going to be eating well and having many a party.

Fly free sweet Rusty, soar high and wide and land softly.
 
That is for sure a very sad day. After a 10 years successful fight to overcome diabetes I'm sure
Rusty will appreciate this well deserve break. I can't imagine how you feel, this thing is linking
us to our kitties in such a deep manner that losing our friend is a big one. Sadness is all around
the forum that is for sure.

Keep in mind the good memories and the certitude that you did a good job during all that
time. Rusty is now full of kitty friends free of pain and any deficiencies he had been the
victim of during all these years.

All positive thoughts to you on this difficult day.

All of the words of condolence that I could offer you would never be enough. You adopted Rusty right after we came on the board in 2010 and I thought then, as now, that he was the luckiest cat in the world. Thank you for sharing him and all his stories. He will forever be the Lagoonmeister. I will always remember all the great parties and how Rusty helped Mannie with Chef duties. Where will the kitties go for hot dogs now? For ice fishing? To gaze at the winter stars? Rusty brought all these adventures to them.

I’m heartbroken for you both. A True Legend has crossed.

Gentle journey, sweet boy.....you will now be among the greatest of kitty friends.

I am so sorry Ella. I burst into tears when I saw the thread title, so it's taken me a bit to be able to comment. I haven't been a part of the L&L Land very long, but Rusty has already taken a piece of my heart. I loved following his adventures, and he threw the best parties. I hope you and your family find peace during this time.

I just saw this post. My heart is breaking for you right now Ella. Chef Rusty was so kind to of just graciously fixed Jerry a feast for his OTJ party. He has been a such special one in LL land. What a inspiration the Rusty team has been for all those that need help and were so lucky to have found him and you here. He will be greatly missed by so many. Thoughts are with you and for all the LL members that loved him too. Peace be with you sweet Rusty. :bighug:
 
I just saw this over on facebook and it wouldn't let me post for some reason....

I'm so sorry that his time has come. Many hugs and prayers for your grieving hearts. I know what a presence he has been in your lives and so many of us outsiders too. He is now with his very large family and friends and waiting until he gets to see you again.

I am so very sorry, Ella and Edward. Knowing he's been frail for quite a while, my mind was prepared for this, but viscerally it's a sickening shock. I can't thank you enough for sharing your lives and interpreting Rusty for us so that we could all know him and love him (and you!). Wishing you comfort and serenity.

Davidson, Harley and I are so sorry for your loss of sweet Rusty! Our hearts are broken and sadness has overcome us. You have our comfort at this time and know you will forever have some wonderful memories that last forever. Our thoughts are with you.
