Elizabeth and Tara with their beautiful cat Sasha captured the hearts of so many of us here on FDMB back in March. I'm starting a new post about Sasha because sometimes there's just too much pain in an earlier discussion, but the link to that discussion is shown above. It's good to hear from Elizabeth and Tara...we've been worried about them. Elizabeth sent me a message that she'd be honored if I posted this photo of Sasha and her poem about her sweet furgirl. Elizabeth's heartfelt, lovely poem brought tears to my eyes and so did this photo of her fluffy, darling lovebug Sasha.

Thinking of you, Elizabeth and Tara, as we all remember Sasha.

With Love,
Eva

The beautiful, sweetest, wise, lovey girl Sasha-badasha

Dear Eva :
It just hurts so much. I miss my girl even as I keep telling myself how blessed we all were to have been her family. Your help and the support of the group made it possible for her to cross over in the arms of those who loved her. We will never forget that.

My Mom wrote a poem about Sasha...... I find it comforting to read it and we wanted to share it here:

Finding Home

Silver Sasha
Saucy Sweet
Abandoned
Starving
on my street

Scraggly fur
on scrawny frame
I offered food
In time
She came

Every day
I left a plate
Soon she sat close
While she ate

She looked at me
with deep green eyes
I smiled back
and waited by

In time, she met me
at the door
I brought her food
She trusted more

No rush
Just patience
Kindness too
I knew in time
She'd make a move

Then one day
This silver cat
Ate her food
Then found my lap

I picked her up
and took her in
The other cats made room....

She found her place
and we've been blessed
with Sasha
our Maine Coon.

We are so grateful for the love and support we find here. It means the world to be able to share with others who understand. I look forward to staying in touch...even though it's been hard....My other five babies need us...they have been so sad too.

Sending hugs

Tara and Elizabeth

Dear Eva, and to Sasha's loving family,

This is so nice that you posted the picture of Sasha for Elizabeth and Tara. She was a very beautiful girl, and was loved so much.

Time goes by, but the memories and love we shared in our hearts with our furbabies, always stays with us each and every day, no matter how long they have been gone.

We all do the best we can, but no matter how much we wish our furbabies were still with us, we know that they are no longer suffering, as they did before we released them with the greatest gift of love we could give to them, by allowing them to depart.

The poem is beautiful, Elizabeth, and your heart shines through all the words.

Take care and keep in touch,

(((((Elizabeth)))))) What a lovely poem!
The love you shared is so strong that it is still surrounding you.
We can feel it.

Fly free sweet Sasha.

Thank you Eva, for posting this. (((((Hugs!))))

I'm typing thru tears after reading that lovely poem. You can just feel the love. Not a day goes by that we don't think of our precious cat angels and the joy they brought us. I am sorry for your loss. Donna

Thank you for sharing this. It made me think (and shed some tears) of a few of my fur-babies who are now running free on rainbow bridge. Hugs

How very beautiful. Second time this forum has made me cry today lol. Whatever would we do without our beloved furbabies to accompany us through lives and decide to share their wonderful love and personalities with us.
