Just an FYI to folks looking for meters and perhaps wishing to avoid WalMart

The Relion Confirm meter is actually made by Arkray USA and branded for WalMart. The unbranded name is Glucocard and it and strips may be obtained online.

You can find out more about it here

One vendor link is on the ubiquitous Amazon!

Re: Relion is branded version of Glucocard

I purchased the Target Up&Up brand which is actually AgaMatrix Wave Sense Presto. I did some research and it gets high marks for accuracy, uses a very small blood sample, and the meter is inexpensive ($8.99) strips are $20 for 50 count.

I am not sure where found that information, but I know that the Relion Ultima is made by Abbott Labs. It is a scaled down version of the Precision Xtra and I received that information directly from Relion & Abbott Labs customers service.

The Relion Micro and Confirm may be made by Arkray.

Yup.

Edited 1st post to add "Confirm". Discovered when I looked at the product manual for Relion Confirm.

I use the Relion Confirm and I have bought the Arkray strips at much better price than Amazon at AmericanDiabetesWholesale.com. If you buy 4 they give you one free. If you go to Mr. Rebates you can find coupons also.
