My 7 month old civie has mild gingivitis despite having his teeth brushed :? The vet has him on a course of clindamycin right now. If that doesn't work, he'll prescribe flagyl. The vet feels that civie is too young for a dental but wants to be kept updated on the gingivitis so he can consult with the dental vets for further treatment.
I'm thinking of adding raw poultry necks to civie's dental hygiene regime. He eats raw food anyways so he'll take to the necks right away. How often do you give a raw neck? How long can the neck stay out at room temperature before it needs to be thrown away? And how do you keep a cat from dragging it around the house? I know civie will do that and probably even play with it
