Walmart, in it's infinite wisdom, has once again started to change the band color on it's insulin syringes. Originally, we could tell you to ask for the Relion insulin syringes with the purple stripe....then, they changed it to an orange stripe! Well, guess what?? They seem to be changing it back to purple!
SO...when asking for syringes at Walmart, you can no longer depend on the color of the band. Ask for Relion 3/10ml, 31 gauge insulin syringes that hold a maximum of 30 units. CHECK before you take them from the pharmacy because they can not be returned!
You may get older stock with an orange band....or you may get the "new" stock with a purple band!
The new orange band is now being used on their 1ml syringes (hold 100 units)
