preparing syringes ahead?.. (slightly)

just a quick question, and sorry if wrong place to post (not sure if should go in general forum..) but is about Lantus..

how far in advance can the syringe be prepared for use? understand to not do this too far ahead like overnight, or for hours, etc. but realized the pen is ok at room temp and have been a bit stressed trying to get everything together at once and executing on time.. because getting the syringe ready has unexpected delays currently personally, ie. removing bubbles, needing a new syringe cause the current has something wrong w it etc. on top of also needing to test before hand.. it would help if say could have the syringe ready 15-20 minutes before.. even 25-30 (?) cuz maybe even do that first before anything else…..

I am sure 15-20 minutes is fine. I've done it one hour or two in advance rarely (like when my kids or husband would give the shot fbut they did not feel comfortable dosing, for example). It's better to do it at the last minute, and you will get used to it. So I would say yes, go ahead and do as you can for now, it's a learning process and you will get it soon
I am editing to say that you should keep the pen in the fridge, though, not at room temperature. We keep them much longer than for a human with the tiny doses we use, so it is better to keep it in the fridge all the time. Same for your syringe if it's more than 15-20 minutes to give you time to test and all that.

hi!! thanks for that, appreciate it haha think as well.. just first week and know will get better/settle into things that work but figuring it out and trying to see what ~ yeah! no pen stays safely in fridge; was just thinking it can stay out at room temp so the insulin being at room temp is ok so preparing the syringe a bit early shouldnt be bad.. i need like 10 min or more so far to work out any kinks that pop up.. womp.

prepared syringe in fridge for meantime while getting the other things ready, hm! does it harden the lubricant/silicon tho at all, need it smooth.. but interesting!

Oh, I see what you meant. I would not prepare it so long in advance that it needs to be in fridge, I think. So I cannot tell, but I guess that would not be an issue, just for one shot.
