preferred lancet?

I need to buy some new lancets and wonder what folks prefer. I got a bunch of freebies but they are about used up. I am not even sure what brand one was (dark blue?) and the other are the Bayer Microlet. Also wondering where I might find the best deals. confused_cat

i prefer the BD lancets but anything 30 gauge is fine with me. i usually get mine free when i buy test strips on ebay. otherwise i pick them up at wal-mart or on hocks.com. there's a link for hocks on this site, so fdmb will get a little commission. i think it's on the top left but it depends on which page you're on...

gee, I've gotten my strips on ebay, but never got free lancets Are the BD dark blue with a cap, so easy disposal?

yep, the dark blue ones with a cap.
i get the Contour test strips for about $30 per 100 on eBay. those are the ones i often get boxes of lancets with as freebies. usually no-name, but some green or beige microlets for sure.

thanks, Hope. I get coupons for BD Lancets in with my syringes all the time. Not sure if I can use them online or not. As for gauge, the higher the # the smaller the needle, right? So 33g is finer than 30g?

Yes, higher the number the finer the gauge.

While the finer lancets may be less painful, I find that the ears do not bleed that easy with the finer gauge.
