We had requested a copy of Grandpa's latest ultrasound to send to a specialist. We learned today that the radiologist's hard drive has an issue so she can't retrieve the files. She has offered to do a new ultrasound for free.

I know the chances of this one having different results than the previous are slim, but I can hope. We can use all the positive vibes you all can share.

I hope I caught you before you left. These pics are of Elmo, the smartest and most "alpha male" cat I've ever had, my first yellow cat. He could sit in the palm of my hand when I adopted him and later he could stand on his tippy-toes and see over the bathroom counter. He defied all the odds later in his life and I believe a loving and stress free home had a lot to do with that.
The will to live cannot be measured in a vets office and no one can tell you otherwise. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:
Elmo as a kitten, Elmo at my sisters cottage 17 years later soaking up the sun. I miss him every day.

Last year we found a kitten laying near a parking lot. We took her to the vet, and they didn't give us a lot of hope. We had to try, so River came home. After a couple emergency vet visits and learning to syringe fed something that only weighed a few ounces, we all survived. We had plans already to meet friends out of state at a rented farmhouse. No one was all that shocked when we showed up with a little furball.

This year brought four new bottle babies. Here is River with one of the newbies.

Sending hopeful thoughts & healing pink energy for your guy, Grandpa. I believe in Miracles.

Ha! That cracked me up.

The sneaky boy may not have the best tummy right now. We were smart enough to hide the extra bacon this morning, but never imagined he would help himself to the skillet of bacon grease while we were eating on the porch. Grrrr.

Let's just say his snout wasn't all that was greasy . We've had a rough day and a half while the old man processed the grease. We went from a relaxing vacation to spending time between litter box cleaning and trying to entice him to eat enough to give him insulin. The poor dude lost weight and looked miserable so we came home very early today.

He finally ate an almost normal wet food meal this evening and then came to beg some of my chicken dinner.

I was so looking forward to having the docs see the great changes in him. He looks weaker and thinner now than I hoped. I have to remind myself that he's still here. For tonight, there's no place like home.

We just got home. I wish I had better news. The masses are the same if not worse. We could schedule a biopsy, but the masses aren't operable so treatment wouldn't change, and we add the risk of anesthesia.

My mom went with me so we found a pet friendly BBQ restaurant and treated Grandpa to some fantastic pulled chicken and came home. We will continue to focus on living every day.

I appreciate you all more than you know.
