Bitty's AMPS 343 1U +4 122 +6.3 78 +8.15 161 +10 192 +12 190
Thinking 0.5U?, 0.25?
9/18/20261970.75(-84)1131171380.75 >267
9/27/20261990.75(-155)124 +1.4044 +3.3365 +4.13 81 +4.32 84 +4.57(-155118 +6.06
You can see 9/18 0.75U was OK but caused hypo 9/27.

Thanks, ~Eileen🌻🐢

(Pls don't ask mention alternative insulins. There are plans in place to switch. Tonight I just need help with Vetsulin)

Sorry nobody got back to you last night, Eileen! I'm just not familiar enough with Vetsulin personally. How's he doing today? I see that nice green yesterday!

Thanks Tim. Bitty’s fine. I understand the lack of familiarity. I was hoping someone would look at his patterns on the spreadsheet and give me their thoughts on dosing even after the fact.

Anything below 90 on Vetsulin means his dose needs to be reduced by 0.25 units. That means trying 0.75 on the 22nd.

9/27 was a long time ago in feline diabetes terms. We only look back a couple weeks, A cat's insulin needs can change over time.

That’s really helpful about the reduction amount.
FYI 9/27 was just 24 days prior.
I still feel quite new to all this. I’m trying to understand from a biology/science perspective I think it’s helpful to look at his patterns of response over time. Of course months ago is less relevant but it still adds useful data for my purposes of understanding better even if it’s too far back to base a dose on.

If you are interested in the biology of diabetes, here's a post: What is Feline Diabetes? The most important thing is that cat's have the unique ability in that their pancreatic beta cells can recover under the correct conditions. It means a couple of things. First, how much insulin they need can change over time. And second, some lucky cats can go into diabetic remission.

Insulin Gestapo, that was helpful. I feel like Bitty was starting to turn the corner in Sept. Then he had a hypo and we haven't yet made it back to regularly better numbers.
Also I wanted to clarify the reduction you mentioned. My post asked about 190, your response used 90. Does that stand?
