? Pantera SS check

Morning, can someone from Admin check Pantera's SS, I didn't shoot this morning as he was already at a good reading. (I think to low to risk it) his numbers have been good and vet said to reduce to once a day if he stays lower what are your thoughts on this please? I thought lantus was twice a day‍♀️

You are correct, Lantus is shot twice a day. Don’t go to once a day. That never works.
You still have room to move to a lower dose.
The doses after 1 unit moving down are....0.75, 0.5, 0.25, 0.1 and then a drop.
If you want a strong remission you need to move down through these doses which is giving the pancreas time to heal.
Once a cat falls back out of remission, it is a lot harder to get them back into remission the second time. So it’s worth the effort the first time.

I would also get a before bed test in every night. You don’t know how low Pantera is dropping at night. He could be dropping quite low.
He is doing very well for a newly diagnosed cat so hang in there.

Did you stall this morning to see if his BG rose at all?
You can start reducing your preshot number a little each time as 4.8 is safe to shoot if you have the data.
The skinny that you are shooting is probably a 0.75 units, so I think I would give 0.75 units as he is not ready for skinny doses yet.
Here is a link to fine dosing.

Ok thank you I looked up the link but am still not quite sure how to dose. 75 I'll keep trying. I have been twisting the syringe till 1 drop comes out after drawing 1 unit he probably has been getting between 0.5 and .75 I wish we had smaller incrimins here. I didn't wait as he was about 15mins late this morning anyways. I will check at night before bed. I have been giving food at roughly 10.30 so he dosen't drop overnight. Our other cat has been on lantus this is the 3rd day he is on 1 unit x 2 daily he is staying high in the low 20's but I'm going to go slow with him so keep it a week see how he goes. How do I add his spreadsheet to my profile? Thanks

The 0.75 is half way between the 1/2 way mark ( imaginary) on the syringe and the 1 unit mark.
I’ll have to ask @Chris & China (GA) how to add another SS to your signature. It can certainly be done but I am not good at that sort of thing.
You can get 1/2 unit syringes from the UK if you want to get them.

Great I have been doing halfway between first line and 1 unit so I looked into the 0.5ml syringes and they are roughly $50 a box and mot sure how long they will take to get here.

Just copy the link in the address bar and paste it into your signature, but now that you're dealing with 2 sugarcats, it'll help to have the spreadsheets "named".

To do that, have the spreadsheet open in another tab while you open your Signature here. Instead of having the entire link there, delete it and type in "Pantera's SS".

"Highlight" that like you were going to copy/paste it and then click on the icon along the top that looks like a paperclip or a single chain link. A new box will pop up for you to enter the actual link so copy the link from Pantera's spreadsheet and enter it into that new box and click "insert".

Repeat the process with the other cat's spreadsheet and when you're done, click "save" on your Signature box and you should be good to go.

Yes the 1/2 unit syringes do cost more partly because the come from the UK and the money exchange rate and postage. They usually take about 7 to 10 days to get here.
So it looks like you have been giving 0:5 units so I would put that in the SS so we know where he’s up to. Just put a notation in the remarks column that you were doing a 1 unit skinny but have found out it was actually 0.5 units, so hence the supposed change in dose.
