Sorry to be late for the party, but the best wishes are still the same! Great timing on the OTJ - well done Cinna, Ali and Gary. Not our first Best Friends kitty, good to hear though.

I am back from holiday and just wanted to stop in and thank everyone here at FDMB properly!

It's highly unlikely Cinna would have got OTJ so quickly without the help of the information here, but even more importantly, the support and advice of all the folks here. I'm still in awe of the number of cats and their people being guided through the FD journey by such an incredibly generous and supportive core group of people.

Big shout out to @Bandit's Mom and @tiffmaxee for getting me through the early days of Cinna's journey, I really can't thank you enough for being so generous with your time, your support and kindness. I still remember being so worried with Cinna being in the black and impatient to get to green, only to quickly discover shooting that first blue and first green is just as scary as all those high numbers! I know I would have been too scared to do it without your guidance and knowing that unlike with my vet, help and advice is available here 24/7. Cinna only went below 50 once, and I'm sure it wasn't even that bad, but it was pretty scary but Bhooma stayed up with me until it was safe to go to sleep which I will forever be grateful for.

In other news, Cinna is doing really well despite the CKD, he's very active, purring, and is still eating well; I've just started transitioning him to Weruva Truluxe Steak Frites, which are much lower phosphorus than his current food. Luckily he likes them, so hopefully, he won't have any intolerance to them. It was quite a challenge to find something without chicken / turkey with low carbs and low phosphorus. His weight is holding steading and I tested BG today and was really happy to see him clock in at 74! :D

yes the Truluxe Steak Frites are a great low-phos option! Our older kitty Roxy, we were struggling to find a lower-phosphorus food she would eat well and Weruva Truluxe has several good options. She also eats the Glam-n-punk well

and lately I've been making low-phosphorus homemade food with EZ-Complete and chicken breast and she eats that up.
