Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is safe and healthy! Remember safety measures as stores and services open up! We're just starting to open things up here in Ontario.
Birds in my yard this week include 3 Gray Catbirds AND there was an Oriole at my feeder yesterday, although I haven't seen him today. This is the first time I've had an oriole in my yard and I was very excited! Oh, and I also have a couple of male Goldfinches visiting for seed.
Spring migration....well Ontario has been stuck in this cold arctic vortex that of course includes north winds....well the birds need south winds to help them cross the Great Lakes. So it appears most of them are flying around the lakes and missing southwestern Ontario. A few warblers have come in but not many; I've only seen 6 kinds in total!
This week's wildlife include a Yellow-Rumped Warbler, a Gray Catbird (from my backyard), a bunny, a Palm Warbler, a White-Crowned Sparrow (also from my backyard), a House Wren, a Philadelphia Vireo, a Killdeer chick, a Baltimore Oriole and today's find a Bald Eagle!
