Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share what I believe to be the best lancets on the market:

BD Ulta-Fine 33 Gauge Lancets.

They fit into my lancing device that came with my One Touch Ultra Mini and will work with all BD lancing devices. These guys are HALF the size of both the One Touch lancets I have used and the generic kind I've gotten (cheaper too). The needle looks like an insulin syringe needle it is so small. Ollie's been diabetic for 2 years and we have been home testing for 2 years and his ears are a bit of a wreck as of late. These lancets are saving our butts (and ears)!

Just thought I'd pass along....have a great Blue/Green Day everyone!!!

very interesting .. where did you purchase these? We have been using the lancets from wal mart made for the relion device but I know mochas ears are bothering her more then they should ...

I got them from this place called 'Shopko.' It's like a generic target out here in Oregon. Not sure if they are everywhere but BD is a big diabetes supply company and likely supplies to drugstores like Walgreens, CVS, and to WalMart. I'd call around pharmacies. They are seriously quite awesome....Ollie's ears are a MESS and he was starting to dread being poked :(. I think/hope these will help.

thank you .. I will look for them the next time we need lancets. Mochas ears are very tender to the touch, she won't let us near her left one and the right one is getting all chewed up ... she is also starting to dread test time and that was the easiest thing to do on her ..

We've been using these for about 9 months. We were using the 31 gauge but we switched. You have to make sure the ear is warm, though! Testing got a lot easier with Logan once we started using these lancets. We get ours at CVS, usually.

I love those lancets. I switched due to cost and I've been wondering if that is the reason for Buzz's ears looking so mauled lately. Anyway, the only place I've been able to find them (other than on Hocks) is at Target, of all places. If they don't have them out on the floor, they will oftentimes have some boxes behind the pharmacy counter if you ask them to check.

I love that they have a cap for the lancet (I don't use a lancet device). The ReliOn ones I've been using just have a little twisty piece that you can put back on as a cap but you run the risk of poking yourself. Anyway, I totally agree that they are the best lancets ever. Unfortunately, my wallet doesn't really care about my opinion.

Nice! I've been using whatever lancets people send me when I buy my test strips on eBay (for some reason, people like to include random crappy lancets with the strips!). I liked the One Touch ones that I had originally, because they had a cap -the ones I have now just have that twisty piece that is so annoying... even using a pen I sometimes jab myself when I insert a new one and then I have to change it because I don't want some random dirty lancet poking Kasha's ear!

Good find -I'll look for them at Target...

I use these too and love them, They are not only fine, but I think they are sharper. I get mine at Hocks when I order strips, only $6.99/100. I've seen them at Target too.

I believe the Target price is $10.69 for 100, but Hocks is cheaper; the price Ann said sounds about right (I think I remember about $7/100).

I switched to the ReliOn lancets because they are $3 (ish) for 100 lancets, and that's quite a savings. However, I've been thinking of switching back when I place the next Hocks order.
