Oscar went in for a check-up today. We re-did the x-rays to check on his lungs
and also on his belly since he has a pot belly. They didn't have the x-rays from
last year since they were sent to the specialist in Indianapolis and apparently
the office didn't send the x-rays back to my local vet or they are otherwise MIA.
As I remember before, he had tramlines and donuts, and his heart was fairly visible.
This time, the vet (different one, same practice) says that it looks like he as
significant "consolidation" in the upper part of his lungs, probably scarring from a
previous lung infection, and that his current wheezing may not be asthma related
at all. I know he does have asthma since every time I try to decrease the
flovent dosage he starts coughing, so his flovent isn't going to change. But I
am worried about why the upper part of his lungs on the x-ray look so white. I
have loaded a cell phone picture of the x-ray the bottom of this post for you all to
see what you think.
He got blood taken today for a full panel and a thyroid test (long story). We
should hopefully have the results back tomorrow, and thyroid might take until
Thursday. I am having this checked because he has been excessively licking his
front legs since October and now has little bald spots on his legs, still has
dandruff, his hair on his neck from getting blood drawn last year still hasn't
fully grown back in, and now his behavior has changed (is becoming increasingly
dominant toward Yoda and biting his scruff when Yoda gets too vocal around food
time). Oscar is slated to get a dental on Thursday.
From what I am looking at online, I am worried that there may be fluid at the
top of the lungs, and some at the bottom too (there is something at the top of
the diaphragm that I don't know what it is) Any insight on his x-ray you could give
me is much appreciated!
