I've been praying for Daisy and YOU all day. Sending more prayers and healing vines and hugs, to you both. I know it's easy for us to say, but try not to dwell on the negative. The vet offered you some different possibilities if the first thing doesn't work, so it's NOT hopeless. Try to keep positive thoughts, and spend time cuddling Blackie and thanking her for being so good while you're dealing with this. Don't you give up - we aren't!!!

The strongest of prayers and healing vines to your Daisy girl. I hope it's something that can be fixed and she is soon home and feeling much better. I would keep imaging her home, and eating, and acting her young self. (((Angela))) Keep the faith. It's sounds like you have her at a good hospital. All paws and fingers crossed for a successful outcome.

I'm so sorry about little Daisy and how sick she is. We are sending all the healing vines, white light, and snow flakes we can muster that the meds will work and she will be back home with you for a full recovery very soon.

Thank you all for the words of comfort, and the knowledge of that medicine. Right now, I'm beyond scared, but I'm also trying to thinking positively that she'll pull through.

I know that I did a BG test on Daisy on 01/05 and she was 63 at +3.5. I don't think she's diabetic.

Is gastroparesis treatable? If it is, it's a glimmer of hope for us both.

Yes it is, but as with any other disease, treatment success varies from patient to patient. The medication they have her on is designed to help the stomach empty faster, so if that's the problem and she responds well, the outlook is better.

I'll know more at around 8:30 or 9 this morning, and will definitely keep you all updated.

As I've said, if this is treatable, this is truly a glimmer of hope that she'll recover from this. I know that the vet was going to give her another dose of the Metoclopramide last night before she left as the first dose didn't do anything. This morning, she's going to re-evaluate her, and call me. One of the things she did say that it might be cancer in the lining which may be thickening it up. I really, really, really hope that it's not that at all. I pray that it's just a disease, that can be treated and managed. I can deal with that.

I'm so sorry for being such a downer... I don't want to lose her like I've lost the 4 before her. This is extremely nerve-wracking, and heart breaking, and it's tearing me apart.

The vet called me back, and despite all the prayers, and the positive mantras going on in here, the news is not good at all. The barium that was given to her last night is in the small intestine, and it back flowed into her stomach overnight. She also was too weak to make it to the litter box and urinated all over herself. She's an extremely clean kitty.

I'm facing a vet bill of $1150-$1600 which includes the potential surgery, and the vet hospitalization from yesterday. DH isn't going to be happy. I want to know what's going on, and then on the other hand, I don't want to have her suffer any longer.

I'm extremely torn about all this.

I just called the vet again, and inquired if she was strong enough for surgery. Due to the rehydration from yesterday, she is.

I talked to her about the surgery, and it will include presurgical bw, fluids, and whatever else that needs to be done. She also said that it's a better procedure to determine what's going on than an ultrasound as they'll be able to find lesions, etc. I did ask her that if DH ok's it, to try and keep it to a minimum as much as possible, but find out whatever and as much she can within those guidelines.

We talked about Daisy for a short bit, and she's tired of being messed with, which I can understand. She also hissed at the vet, just a warning hiss, when she was being messed with. :lol: That's my little girl!

Still waiting on 11:00 to call DH with the news.

My house needs vacuuming.

I did manage to eat a piece of toast. Sipping water as it seems to be easier on my stomach.

I'm glad you were able to have a good talk with the vet, and that Daisy is strong enough for surgery - and that she's feeling feisty (you go, girl!!). Prayers that they find something innocuous, like a hairball, and that she heals up quickly.

Maybe try putting a little peanut butter on that toast. I know how hard it is to eat when you're so stressed and worried (I'm the same way - DH is always trying to "force feed" me when I'm worried about the cats)...a little bit of protein will help you keep up your strength!

Do they think she could have a blockage? Is that possible? If nothing is getting through, I mean would that show on an xray? I am guessing it would. Anyhow sending prayers and more prayers for your little girl to be very strong through her surgery.

I hope that you will be able to get Daisy through this. I know how much this can weigh on your mind. I hope that you will be able to get the procedures for Daisy and that she bounces back healthy and full of love and life.

The barium would've shown a blockage if there was one. I'm just hoping that it's nothing serious like a cancerous tumor. I'll have to talk to the vet again and ask her that providing DH ok's the surgical procedure, which I hope he does.

I've got 2 minutes to wait before he goes on break. I hope he allows this to go through. I really, really do. I don't want to put her down without knowing what's going on first.

Yes I would want to know what is causing all this, she is not that old. Since she hissed at the vet must still be a bit feisty which is good. Hoping DH okays everything.

I called DH, and told him what was told to me. Thankfully, I made notes this time. Naturally, he's extremely concerned about the cost of this, and I can understand.

The good news is: He's ok'd the surgery for Daisy.

I called the vet back, and told her to go ahead with the surgery. To do whatever she can to save her, and try to keep it to a minimum. I know that's probably asking for a whole lot, and I know that this is getting very expensive. She's going to call me during the surgery to let me know if it's inoperable or not, and if it isn't, then she'll have to be let go at the time.

I want to know what's causing the blockage, and if she can be saved.

I will call with more updates as I get them.

Thank you. I pray that it's not cancer, and that the obstruction is easily removed. I've had enough of that.. WE've had enough of that. I want to save her life. I want her back home. Here. With me. I miss my little "darling-who-could-do-no-wrong" Daisy.

The vet will be operating on her after lunch today. I'll know more later. I just hope for some good news for a change.

Thank you, once again, for your continued support. I just hope and pray that the news will be a positive one, and that she can be saved.

For now, after being stressed out for the past couple of weeks, I'm beginning to feel a bit at ease. It's kind of surreal. The knowing with what's going on with her is more important to me than the not knowing.

Just received a phone call from our vet tech, and she told me that the vet wanted her to call me to let me know that she removed a tumor from Daisy, and if I wanted to have it biopsied. I asked the price, and then asked if they could hold it until I talk to my husband.

I'm currently awaiting the call from the vet herself. Will update when I find out more.
