Newbie Checklist draft - input needed

can i tell you some grammatical stuff to fix? :-D (grammar stuff jumps at me like crazy)

in the final copy of "newbie checklist" for now as that's what i've read so far

2nd paragraph, 2nd line it says "and can ofter tips & support".....obviously "ofter" should be "offer"

point #12 it says "giving back here in here in PZI".....take out one of the "here in"
and same point #12 it says "it is only though you"....."though" should be "through" i assume?
 
You can tell me LOTS of grammatical stuff to fix! Your editing skills are very appreciated. I've incorporated your input. Thank you.

So I really thank everyone for their efforts and input on reformulating the PZI Sticky and just wanted to share the good news. I think we all done good. :mrgreen:

And in general I do think people are reading it - we've had a couple newbies come in and immediately start talking about "no shoots" which I think is a good sign.

Also I changed the Newbie Chekclist to underline the "emergency" part on Joanna's suggestion.
 
Woohoo!!!! :mrgreen: Gator you did a really awesome job getting something going, and putting together so much info for everybody. Thanks for taking that on, I think it is really great that you did that.
 
Thought I would note that Rebbecca made some edits to the Newbie Checklist. It does not appear the "extreme" detail of the stickies in other ISGs are singled out or an issue. Nor in the other ISG stickies is it explained that they the ISGs are for "experienced caretakers" only.

I've asked for some clarification.

Perhaps we can remove the word "newbie" from "newbie checklist" and change it to PZI or make other changes that would satisfy board guidelines better?
 
Gator: The forum list clearly states that all ISGs are for experienced caretakers only.

I've been looking at newly registered members and feel that some clarifications are needed.

I cannot change everything at once, the order of change occurs for various reasons. And you are absolutely right in your note to me: this is my website and I change it as I see fit. I simply do not have time to explain every change I make and, of course, there will never be a consensus of opinion on changes I make, so I make my own decisions. Guess I am just a despot! LOL!

In light of recent events, I have updated the Newbie Checklist to be more firm about 200 being the proper no shoot rather than waffling about 150 to 200 but 200 being the usual.

Also per the discussion here:

I am planning on also having the Title changed to:
PZI STICKY: Please scan/read - newbies & oldbies! Links/Info

Let me know your comments if anybody disagrees or has better ideas.
 
I've posted the bbCode version of parts of the PZI Sticky here:

I also placed very small links down at the bottom of the various PZI Sticky pages to the bbCode versions. I have done this so that anyone can copy and paste part of the material into their own posts/topics and the formatting and more importantly links will work. Hopefully this will allow the generally agreed upon info to be shared more with those that may skip reading the Sticky.
