Hello everyone! My 14 year old cat was diagnosed with diabetes 2,5 months ago. We started insulin treatment for about 2 months. We also started feeding the cat with raw meet or canned meet. For raw meet we prepare a mix of different meets + taurin + vitamin B2. The canned meet he receives is from Wild Freedom.
Our vet told us to administer the cat with 1 unit of insulin at 8 AM and at 8PM. The cat seems to be very sensitive to insulin and usually responds well. When the cat has a glicemia below 200 we don’t administer the insulin as the glicemia would decrease very much. But if we don’t administer the insulin it sometimes happens that the glicemia increases at 300 between the insulin shots. What do you advice? Should we administer the insulin in the evening at 8PM even if the glicemia is at 180. We also have a problem- during the day between 9AM and 7PM no one can measure his glicemia.
