1 ml is only .2 teaspoons, I believe, so I would give more.Ok. I gave him two .5 ml syringes full of honey with a little gravy. Is that enough?

Yes that's right +15.25[/Q
Help me out. Where do you want me to put the 5.4 and 5.1
You're right Suzanne, somehow i read it as two 5ml instead of .5ml. Sorry it's been a long day.1 ml is only .2 teaspoons, I believe, so I would give more.
I know! I think we are all starting to Crash and Burn! And that has me concerned. We've gotta keep going. I am the most likely to keep going because it's only 8 o'clock here. Yes, I got up at 5, but I can keep going a long time on coffee. I'm just concerned about Jill and her daughter. You're right Suzanne, somehow i read it as two 5ml instead of .5ml. So, Jill, if you can smear some more honey into his mouth, then that would be great. You're right Suzanne, somehow i read it as two 5ml instead of .5ml. Sorry it's been a long day.
Puts my theory to bed then lol.I was just reading this a little while ago from our sticky note.... about in the case of an accidental overdose ... you may need to monitor for literally 16 or more hours.
Not stupid. We are all trying to think about what's going on here... but I am kind of waiting for Merlin to go back up into his more "typical" numbers before he had insulin (based on the spreadsheet data of the last few days.) I don't think his pancreas could start functioning that quickly, do you?Now this might seem a stupid thing to say but could it be possible that Merlins pancreas is working and producing his own insulin and keeping him at a decent number. It's just something that's going around in my head that the insulin has kick started him, stupid thoughts i know but.
No... I get it.... I've been sitting here trying to think about what's happening... so I started re-reading the info here. thanks so much for being here! Hang in there, Jill. WE are with you!!Puts my theory to bed then lol.
No to be honest, but wouldn't it be nice if it did.Not stupid. He's ok still Jill.I’m sad to say it’s 4.8 now. Should I call the vet?
YesI didn’t see your message about that not bring enough honey. Should I give him more now?
If I call they will take him. I guess put him on a drip then? Seems a shame after all of this and maybe it’s going to wear off soon.Is the vet even open?
He's fine and gone to bed. He had some HC food that took him back up to 4.3 (77) so he's safe now but will probably be high on his AMPS.The good news, I hope, is that we are approaching 16 hours and hopefully the insulin will wear off. I am being optimistic. How's Duke?
Yes. The information that I was just reviewing on the sticky not on the Lantus/Levemir forum said that overdoses can take 16 hours or more to improve. We are approaching 16.If I call they will take him. I guess put him on a drip then? Seems a shame after all of this and maybe it’s going to wear off soon.
I’m mixing more honey. Should I put a teaspoon in with water?Just give more honey ASAP. Let us know when you have done it, please. He is still in very safe territory. Hang in there. This has to get better.
I agree Suzanne,And, mark this, I would NEVER say this unless he was still in very safe numbers! He is in very safe numbers. We need him to just start getting back into his more typical pre-insulin numbers!
No give it neat Jill. At least 5ml (5 full syringes.)I’m mixing more honey. Should I put a teaspoon in with water?
Yes. If you think that will be the best way to slowly syringe it into Merlin. If that method is working, then do it. If not, then just put a big dollop on your finger and put it into his mouth (I have also done this in a pinch).I’m mixing more honey. Should I put a teaspoon in with water?
Very good.Just added a drop of water so it would go down
I would say check him 10/15 minutes after the large dose of honey and if there is no decent rise or if he goes down then he will need the vets.@Teetee (UK) what do you say. He's now at 3.6? @Merlin’sMama you say he is now 3.6 on the Libre? Is that correct?
Is that the 20 minute check?
10 minute
