Has she ever traveled before? If it were Michelangelo and his feral tendencies, I know it'd be more traumatic for him to travel than to miss a couple of shots. Even still, I have taught quite a few people how to test and shoot Michelangelo so he would at least be getting some insulin while I'm gone.
The last time I left him, my friend who was doing his tests and shots had a devil of a time getting him to cooperate at the right times so I basically gave her carte Blanche to give him a shot whenever she could get a test in as long as it was at least 12 hours since his last shot and he was above 200. He ended up with about 1 shot a day because of this, which was better than none (I was gone an entire week). I also had her feeding exclusively the 0 carb Tiki Cat on the cycles she couldn't get tests/shots in to keep his numbers as low as possible. It wasn't ideal, but it kept him safe from both hypo and DKA. It took us only about a day or two to get back on track again.
