Lantus Land friends (posting in Health too) which is best for Baby in your opinion ? Allow her to be home with Sadi & without insulin for 72 hours, take her on 4 flights to an environment that is new with stress of dog, stress of Security, stress of plane changes & takeoff/landings or board & be in a cage at Vets with insulin? Stress impacts the body in multiple ways & am leaning towards her being home with Sadi even though no insulin?

I would choose taking her with you.

That's just my opinion. All of the above will cause her stress. Can you not find vet tech who can test and shoot?
I always just take J.D. with me and get straight through non stop flights, although I'm thinking lately that a change of planes may allow me to at least test him between flights and allow him to stretch his legs a little between flights.

Any way to leave her home with Sadi and having a pet sitter that can also give insulin even if they can't test? If not testing have them shoot a reduced dose.

I suggest either taking her with you or boading her with the vet if you can't find someone to come over and give her insulin. Too bad that you don't live closer to Jacksonville or I could help you.

If you board her, leave a towel or clothing you have worn to put in her cage. That will help keep her calm. When I have had to board my cats in the past, I would write out very explicit instructions including about testing and give it to the vet. I would also supply my meter & strips and tell them they must test my cat(s) with my meter only. That way I also had a record that they really did test. My vet's office was very good about following my instructions.

If you have someone else shoot, it would be a good idea to give them a sample syringe with colored water in it, and write in the instructions that they should compare each dose to the sample syringe...as long as her test numbers are not too low.

Has she ever traveled before? If it were Michelangelo and his feral tendencies, I know it'd be more traumatic for him to travel than to miss a couple of shots. Even still, I have taught quite a few people how to test and shoot Michelangelo so he would at least be getting some insulin while I'm gone.

The last time I left him, my friend who was doing his tests and shots had a devil of a time getting him to cooperate at the right times so I basically gave her carte Blanche to give him a shot whenever she could get a test in as long as it was at least 12 hours since his last shot and he was above 200. He ended up with about 1 shot a day because of this, which was better than none (I was gone an entire week). I also had her feeding exclusively the 0 carb Tiki Cat on the cycles she couldn't get tests/shots in to keep his numbers as low as possible. It wasn't ideal, but it kept him safe from both hypo and DKA. It took us only about a day or two to get back on track again.

You're in Ft Lauderdale, with a high population.
There shgould be some pet sitters, or high school or college students interested in vet medicine, with decent references, who can learn to shoot and pet sit your kitty for a reasonable fee.
