Hi again, I had posted recently a few weeks ago, thought then that perhaps the insulin was bad..(insulin was replaced at that time). I have been home with him a lot, and done ALOT of testing over the past few weeks... but what I've not done is discovered any 'pattern' ... and I feel like I'm shooting blind, feel as though he is bouncing all the time or ... something, I just don't know. Can anyone make any sense of his numbers and give me advice on a sliding scale, like how much to shoot @ x number?
For a long while he was predictable, I knew each .1 would drop him roughly 100pts, now, it feels like his numbers are all over the place, and I can't seem to get a handle on what the problem is. He has also been very pushy about testing.. several of the very lows I recorded were HIS idea, I had NO clue it was a problem til the test was done! (I had thought based on the numbers prior, that all was ok .. /sigh .. this is what I mean, every time I think I have a clue, I find out I'm wrong) He isn't pushing because of treats, he almost never gets them now (well, 1-2 times per week max)
Any ideas? My head keeps going back to food, but I don't have a way to keep him separate from the others... I am again researching raw, but 3 time now I've bought just raw chicken thigh (like I would eat) .. tried it twice just raw cut up, no dice, they wouldn't touch it, baked some and a few of them ate that, but only because I didn't put other food down at the time I think, plus, cooking probably ruined it nutritionally
- Also, for my situation, raw seems like it is going to be difficult... yea maybe it IS easy to make a batch for one or two weeks when you have only one... I have 12, that's a lot more work, and a LOT more storage needed, or I'd need to do it every couple days (which I can see me getting tired of MIGHTY fast- I only shop for canned food once per month!)
