something is going on with my memory right now, I think it's a side effect of a certain medication I was taking so I have stopped the medication but it's gonna be a couple weeks for it to be out of my system. So I really need everybody's help and refreshing my memory on what to do and not to do as far as skittles Falling out of remission. His new doctor and I are hoping that it's just because of the infection in his tooth and that he will go back into remission but until then I might have to start him on 1 unit of insulin.
But I just can't remember anything tonight , and really need y'all help.
Since I'm not sure if The Friskies that he has been eating has changed the carb count tonight I went and got cans of fancy feast off of the food list. He just ate 30 minutes ago, so when do I test his level and if it is over 350 should I go ahead and give him 1 unit?
Basically I think the best thing right now is treat me as a complete newbie again, even though he is my second cat that has gotten diabetes and also once again went into remission because of the awesome advice and tips from everybody here . I really really want to get him back into remission. The vet said that it is possible that he could go into it a second time, but how often does that happen that you guys know of ? And if it does happened, what time frame are we looking at ? Should I go ahead and restart insulin or wait a couple days and see if the meds for his infected tooth kick in and bring his BG back down?
In case no one remembers me.... I am the queen of questions and for some reason when it comes to my own animals , I get very insecure and second-guess my every move even though I have been in the veterinarian Field for over 30 years and I am a licensed wildlife Rehabber ( took classes at my local college to get certified )
PS
I am also awful at taking my time to proofread before I hit send (((( blushing)
PSS
Does anybody remember me, even though skittles has been in remission for a year
and 2 weeks , I am still around reading , but only post once in a while
