I had to put my 4 year old cat Max to sleep today. He has been battling hemolytic anemia for the past year and a half with relapses almost every 3 months. This last one was the worst so I brought him in and not only was his spleen extremely enlarged, we discovered he also had cancer. I decided he had already been through enough so going forward with more tests to find out more about the cancer and going into chemotherapy was just not worth it.
Out of my three cats, 13, 11 and 4 years old, I never expected the 4 year old would go first. It feels so unfair. I can't believe I will never see him again. I love cats so much but this part is just too hard.
