My cat Wiccet was diagnosed with a severe UTI. I gave him his meds and he seemed to be bouncing back with little difficulties. Until the meds were finished and then about a week later he went downhill rapidly. His back legs got weak and awkwardly beneath him. Then he started getting spasms in his front legs and started peeing all over again, He was no longer able to get to the kitty litter in time.
Now I am waiting for bloodwork to be done for Tuesday morning but my girlfriend keeps telling(like it helps at all) that once that starts happening he is on his way out and won't help even with the insulin. so bloodwork would just be a waste of money. I'm now worried he won't make it until Tuesday and I am supposed to start a new job next week but I can't be here for him and there to make money. I rearranged my living room and close of my small hallway that joins the living room to the two bedrooms and the bathroom. so doesn't move too much. I am worried he will injure himself further. I have garbage bags taped down on the floor and partway up the wall for messes. I can't put water or kitty litter in there because he keeps falling into them and other than injury if he falls into the water and is too weak I am afraid he will drown.
I bring him water hourly and have to hold him up so he can drink. He lays down to eat, I know it isn't good for him to do so but he does eat, and ravenously. I also take him to the litter after eating and drink whether he needs to or not, just to help him. Did anybody else get such a severe crash all of a sudden, start insulin, and their cat still survive!?
