Glad to hear people are doing well on Caninsulin. Issey did brilliantly today - till I went to pick her up. They did a final BG at 6.30 when I was there - so I could have another lesson in the Alphatrak - and it was 1.9!!!! Jeez. Anyway, she wouldn't eat, of course, so they syringed 25ml of the Hills AD down her and 15 mins later she was back up to 3.9. Three hours later, she is on 9 (after coming home and eating quite happily, of course).
I think it happened because she is a grazer and had not done so at the vets today - just had one meal in the morning - so they will do it differently next time. Apart from that though, her curve was exactly as before, so they don't want to see her again for a curve for four weeks, unless I am unhappy with home testing.
I've borrowed their Alphatrak as mine still hasn't come in and I found it really easy to use tonight, and Issey was brilliant, so thanks to you all for advice and support on that!
Am going to try her on some of the Applaws wet food in the morning and leave out the Hills MD (I know, but I know she will eat it and I am now going to do some proper research into foods I can get here to try and wean her off it. I got some of the Applaws complete dry, which did not look too bad on a quick glance in Pets at Home, so will give the label a proper going over tomorrow.
Thanks again for being here x
