Hi again. I have a couple more questions about food. Seems odd that with the hundreds of foods Dr. Lisa has on her chart that I somehow have been feeding the ones that are not on there... i guess I have always been kind of an oddball.... I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the phosphorus content in Young Again Dry, Nutro Natural Choice canned, or Wellness Core Shreds (pouches) or Wellness Trufood (pouches).
also has anyone had experience with feline kidney stones? Vet says Rex has kidney stones. His kidney numbers are up - so does that automatically indicate CKD or could it be from the kidney stones? or are kidney stones a result of CKD? Can kidney stones be treated with anything noninvasive? do they just go away?? so many questions.
another question I had been thinking about lately is that since Rex's BG numbers have been pretty good, many nights I do not give him a shot at all. typically his night time numbers are in the mid-100's. should I be skipping? or give shot anyway? he was originally on 1 unit 2x a day, then the vet upped it to 2 units 2x a day. given his current numbers (she went more on the fructosamine than on the numbers I provided her from home testing), now she is saying 2 units in AM and 1 unit at night. I usually only test a night because when I have done more often than 1x per day he gets really ornery. I figure that if he is stressing on the testing, it may affect the BG numbers. if I don't give him a shot in the PM, then I also figure that by AM he is probably going to be needing one anyway so not so important to test. I do do an occasional AM test just to see where it is at after 24 hours without a shot. opinions/suggestions on this would be appreciated as well.
Hopefully this is not too many questions or one post. Please let me know if so for future reference.
