Somehow my mom thought she had injected Lucky but we think she forgot to take the plunger protector cap off the syringe in the chaos of my 8 yr old and 11 month old crying and running around like mad. She also didn't have her glasses on and she said it looked like it was all gone (he's only on 1.5u so I can see how it would look like nothing there!). She's an RN and would NEVER do well in an ER setting, obviously LOL!! In her defense, she does major disease triage for an insurance company and hasn't worked in a medical office for a couple of years ;-) Anyways...

I just checked him at what would be his +4 and he's at 364. Should I just wait to give him his next scheduled dose in the morning? I'm afraid he's going to test at 500 something :( Just don't want it to be too high overnight.

I'm pretty sure I should just wait till the next dose but wanted to see what others would say!

Another thing, if his numbers come back higher than they usually do, should I do a temp increase in dose? I'm not going to be able to test him regularly or even be here to watch him because I'll be at the hospital all day tomorrow with dh....I'm thinking just keep it at 1.5u....?

Well, I'm just going to hold off till morning. I have to get to bed! But please let me know so I know for future reference. I need to learn :)

Hi all4mymarine, and, of course, you too, sweet Lucky,

You did exactly what I would have done. Skip and get back on course in the morning.

And, yes, shoot his normal dose. It may take Lucky a few shot cycles to get back on track; but, in my humble opinion, that's the path to take.

Love and army-brat hugs for you and your Marine -- and for your mom, the wee ones, and, of course, Lucky,
Deb and Nikki -- and, Giz, forever dancing in my heart...

Thanks Deb!

Lucky was ok this morning. No higher than usual, all is good :-D Dh got a shot of some good pain meds so while he sleeps, I ran back to the room for awhile. Will test Lucky before I leave to go back.

LOL, dh is Army now but my screen name has stuck :-D He was a Marine for almost 11 yrs before doing a service transfer and let me tell ya, grass isn't always greener!!

You might want to post over on the PZI forum for dose advice also. There are usually people there in the am and pm. It also helps to check out other's spreadsheets and threads to see how the insulin is working for them. viewforum.php?f=24
