She did not struggle at all. She fell asleep while I sang "Amazing Grace" (That was the song I sang to her whenever I wanted her to climb on my chest!!) I have a peaceful heart knowing it was the right thing to do, and the right time, She hadn't been able to eat for 4 days. She wanted to, but couldn't . It broke my heart. He tongue mass hindered chewing and swallowing. I will soon talk to Dawn Allen again, so will get the low down on her travels.

Traci had recommended me 2 books, one :Animal in Spirit" The other I ordered was about pets having a hereafter. They both came today! They will help my grief. Thanks, Traci.

I spent all night with her, crying and talking. I think I am out of tears now, and do feel very peaceful. It will feel so quiet around her, even tho she didn't make much noise!

Shiloh hasn't acted different, one way or the other. He smelled her body, didn't do anything. I wonder if he will show any grief. They weren't the best of friends, sad to say.

I cannot thank everyone as much as I'd like for your replies and sympathies. They all meant alot to me. I will print them for a scrapbook for my Kaely. Thanks, Donna

I'm so sorry, Donna. Even when it's time, it's so hard to let them go. Very grateful her passing was peaceful, I hope your healing will be, too.

Donna it seems you let McKaela leave in the most loving and sweet environment possible.
What a wonderful mama you are to provide such a peaceful parting.
Your grief is inevitable, it is the price of love. ((((( Donna )))))))

I am glad it was peaceful. I am so sorry that it was her time to go. McKaela was a fighter, now she is flying free, whole and healthy over the Rainbow Bridge. Tears falling here. rb_icon

((Donna)) I'm so sorry - I just saw your post on FB and came back over here looking for the thread - I am so sorry.

I am so happy that she left you so peacefully - I'm sure she was welcomed at the Bridge by all who have gone ahead and were waiting for her. You gave her the greatest gift - but you know all that - and she knew your love for so long and right until the goodbye.

My heart goes out to you - I'm sending many comforting prayers and hopes that your wonderful love and the memories of all these years will help to fill the void and the quiet left in your life and heart by her leaving.

Sending many many hugs to you.

I'm certain that hearing you sing your song to her gave her much comfort and helped her have such a peaceful passing.

sending thoughts of comfort to you and yours.

Peace dear sweet McKaela. You are loved. rb_icon

I am so sorry for your loss.

You did the right thing at the right time. I waited too long for my
Smokey and he died in my arms choking. I will forever regret not giving him a peaceful
death.

Hard as it is to help her pass, it is not as hard as watching her die in distress.

May all your wonderful memories of McKaela comfort you...

...'til you meet again.

I'm glad her passing was peaceful, but it was her time to go, she knew it and you knew it. I'm sure she had a huge welcoming party at the Bridge from all the GAs here. Be gentle with yourself now, you did the very best there was to do for your precious girl.

Fly free Sweet McKaela wings_cat until you meet again.

Donna you were truly given the gift of calm at a distressful time. You gave your baby a dignified and peaceful transition. We should all be so blessed.

Safe journey little one,
land ever so softly back in your mama's heart
till you meet again.

My condolences and prayers go out to you. Amazing Grace is a beautiful hymn. Books helped me with my grief when I lost my boy kitty two years ago. I believe we will see our pets again. Hugs.

Dear Donna,
Please forgive me as I'm just seeing this. Such empty holes these special souls leave in our hearts. I'm so glad you and Kaely spent such a peaceful time together altho how hard it was for you too. Sending you many many warm thoughts and hugs.

I'm so sorry for your loss of McKaela. May you find peace and solace. Fly free, McKaela.

I'm so sorry, Donna. It's such a hard decision to have to made. But McKaela is at peace now. My deepest condolences for your loss.

Grappling with the timing is sometimes so much more traumatic than the actual event, and though it's sad that she's gone, I'm glad she passed peacefully. My thoughts are with you.

wow, donna, you are great. i don't think i could have sung like that. that's wonderful.
mckaela is now whole and healthy again, and playing with the other kitties at the bridge until the day you meet again.
she had a great life with you, and you were a loyal, loving friend.
fly free, mckaela.

(((((Donna))))) I'm glad for you both that her passing was peaceful...in her mommabean's arms with a beautiful song to guide her passage to the Bridge.

Thinking of you both and sharing your tears.....

Oh, such fortitude and love it took on your part to see to it that she had a peaceful passing. I know it wasn't easy, but you can know you did the right thing. I hope your pain passes quickly and you can just remember what a sweet girl she was.

(((((Donna)))))

I am so very sorry for the loss of your precious McKaela. I'm thankful that her passing was peaceful and that she left this world in the arms of love while listening to such a beautiful song. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Fly free, precious McKaela, fly free...............

Hi Donna-
I'm just seeing this now. I am very happy to hear she had a peaceful passing and that you are doing okay. I really hope the books help you. The end of Animals in Spirit gets a little "out there" for my taste, but the book in general helped me SO much to see animal's passing in a different light. Some day when I have the guts I'll have Dawn Allen contact Boomer for me. I am so happy your girl is out of pain. THe thought of her not being able to eat is terrible. You did the right thing hon! I printed out all the condolences I got when Boomer passed too. I was overwhelmed by the kindness from the people on this board.

I am very sorry for you and your kitty. I lost my Fred this week and I have been very sad.

Could you please give the name of the other book you mentioned?
>about pets having a hereafter<

At this point I would love to hear from someone who feels really sure that our kitties our out there with a soul connection to us and that we will reunite again. The whole rainbow bridge thing is a nice thought but sometimes feels too much like a platitude, but I would really love to hear from someone else who believes for sure that our kitties are at peace and meeting our other lost loved ones and all that.

thank you
martica

I am very, very, very sorry Donna. McKaela was a trooper, along with Shiloh, and Furry Murray. You have been so loving and caring. I am happy her pain has ended, and sad, that yours has just begun. I hope Furry Murray met her at the bridge. And they are joyfully eating without struggle or pain.

Fly free Dear McKaela. You have earned your wings.

Peace,

Cat, Sweet Max, and gang
