Hi everyone, I'm new here... I hope it's okay to just jump in like this. My name is Briana, and I have a new little kitty that I'm having some health issues with.
Bella is about 7 weeks old (I've had her less than a week). She is completely tailless and after some research I believe she is showing some slight signs of Manx Syndrome.
She does seem to have some weakness in her back legs, but not enough that it is really causing her a problem; she walks, runs, jumps, and plays easily and happily. She definitely knows when she needs to use the bathroom and is almost completely litter trained. There doesn't seem to be any urine incontinence at all. The only real problem she is having is when she needs to go #2. You can tell she knows she needs to go, and she will go to her litter box, but she has a very hard time actually getting it out. We've had some success with splashing warm water on her little bottom to help get her going, but even that hasn't worked today.
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of problem? Any suggestions? I did consider that it may have been partially due to the transition from nursing to food, but I checked with the lady I got her from and she had been feeding them kitten food for a couple of weeks.
Thank you so much for any help, suggestions, or advice! Bella and I appreciate it. :)

Does she have diarrhea or is her stool very hard? It may be food related. You can try adding pumpkin to her food. It works for both diarrhea and constipation. Make sure that you get canned pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling. If her stool is hard add some water to her food also.

I have a couple manxes occasionally they have this issue. If things do not improve you should see your vet.

Her stool has been being pretty normal, but there was a tiny little piece in her litter box this morning that is pretty hard.
Thank you, I'll get some pumpkin today and try that.

If you are not feeding her the same food that the previous owner was, that can cause issues. Is it canned or dry food? If you do not see any improvement within a couple days, you should see the vet to make sure nothing else is going on.
