Hi everyone, I'm new here... I hope it's okay to just jump in like this. My name is Briana, and I have a new little kitty that I'm having some health issues with.
Bella is about 7 weeks old (I've had her less than a week). She is completely tailless and after some research I believe she is showing some slight signs of Manx Syndrome.
She does seem to have some weakness in her back legs, but not enough that it is really causing her a problem; she walks, runs, jumps, and plays easily and happily. She definitely knows when she needs to use the bathroom and is almost completely litter trained. There doesn't seem to be any urine incontinence at all. The only real problem she is having is when she needs to go #2. You can tell she knows she needs to go, and she will go to her litter box, but she has a very hard time actually getting it out. We've had some success with splashing warm water on her little bottom to help get her going, but even that hasn't worked today.
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of problem? Any suggestions? I did consider that it may have been partially due to the transition from nursing to food, but I checked with the lady I got her from and she had been feeding them kitten food for a couple of weeks.
Thank you so much for any help, suggestions, or advice! Bella and I appreciate it.
