Can someone please try to explain why Magellan's numbers are being soo loopy??? With these numbers I am uncomfortable with shooting.

It's really quite difficult to tell as he's so new to Lantus. Though I don't think I'd shoot that 100 given how sensitive he is to insulin...or not at night anyway. You might want to try shooting one of the lower numbers (maybe around a 150 if he gets to that as a pre-shot) on his AM cycle to see what happens with it - he might do just fine, or he might earn a reduction straight away. I would leave it for an AM cycle though to make sure there are plenty of people around to help...unfortunately, I'm starting a work contract for a few weeks early on Tuesday morning so won't be able to stick around quite as late at night as I could last week.

Hugs congrats on the new contract and I really love ya for all the help that this group has given me, with out you guys I would be sooo lost. I agree lets see how he is in the am.... crosses fingers and paws

Thank you! :) It's the same place I was working while Rosa was on insulin...I had to leave the contract early because I had to keep skipping her AM shots. But apparently they still want me back for a few weeks even after that! :) So it's not quite as scary as starting somewhere completely new - at least I know the people I'll be working with this time. :)

Let's see where Magellan is in the morning. I can stay with you for his AM cycle tomorrow if you want to try giving him the shot as I'm home tomorrow apart from maybe a half hour run to the store. Hopefully he'll be somewhere around the 150 so he's not starting very low, but if you post his number before you give the shot, I'll look out for you posting and we'll figure out what to do from there. Or you can tag me if you want to make sure I see it straight away! :)
