Leukeran question

My cat is into his second week on Leukeran for IBD. He gets it M,W, and F. His appetite seems to be decreasing. Is this a common effect? I'm thinking of getting some FF (off the food list) to add a little variety to his dinner. He is usually a gobbler.

If I recall my Mario used to be off a little in appetite on the feeding after his Leukeran pill. He was also on it M, W & F. He used to vomit occasionally after the pill but I decreased that by giving him 2.5 mg of PepCid AC with each pill.

My Mickey didn't have diabetes, he had Felv and possibly cancer or IBD. He was on Leukeran. We also gave him metacloprimide to help with nausea, although honestly I never really noticed vomiting...I guess it worked, then. His appetite was poor, but how much was the Leukeran and how much was all the other things he was dealing with I don't know.

When are you going back for your follow up blood test? It should be during your second week. I would speak to the vet about the change in appetite, preferably before you give the pill on monday.

He had 3 doses (W, F, M - in evening, an hour after meal) and we went for a test on Wed. All was good - minor changes from a week ago, but all within normal range. He was given another 3 weeks supply, but after the Wed dose, he wasn't too interested in breakfast on Thurs or dinner Thurs night or Breakfast on Fri. He did eat all the meals, but took him nearly 2 hours when normal is a few minutes. Last night, he ate fine, and got another pill. We'll see how he eats this morning - he's just been fed. Thanks for the feedback. If the pattern continues, I'll definitely call his vet.
