Just wanted to give a quick update on sweet lil' Leo.
His pancreas hung in there like a champ for a couple of days-going all the way out to +26 and +31 on .1 unit doses this weekend. Woot!
Yesterday I noticed that the duration of Leo's BG being under the no-shoot number was dropping. I gave his .1 unit at +19 last night. Still pretty good.
However, this morning at +7 he was back to where it had taken him +20 or so to get to on the prior two days. When he gets to 150, we're going to try going up to .2...unless that would be a bad idea. Appetite is good, we've been giving mini-meals every hour or so this past weekend. BF has the week off and is home to monitor.
Perhaps his pancreas needs more healing time, but I'm still pretty happy with the way he's handling his reduced dose and staying "in the blue". We're hoping that going up just a smidge will help him.
Also, does anyone know if it is ok for Leo to have some (fresh) catnip? We have a little patch of it right outside our door, and I've been not allowing him any (oh, mean Mommy!!)...I'm guessing that plants fall in the category of carbohydrate, unfortunately.
Thanks as always,
Kate & Leo
