Today's high AMPS number was a surprise coz LB's numbers have come down a lot lately. Partly he had a bit of food pre shot (an hour before) yes I know this is wrong but I get panicky that he might go hypo and I don't want to get up and test him at 6.30am - we now get up every day at 7.30am for LB. He had 1/3 a small tin of tuna - but I wonder if they put sugar in the spring-water. But apart from this number he's doing a lot better numbers wise. The number 70 came as a shock to us at +6. That's his lowest number since dx.

Does a hypo cat let you know that it is having problems? What happens if their numbers drop too low during the night?

Hi there,

I'm assuming you have these two links printed out and nearby?

How To Treat Hypo
Jojo's Hypo Tool Kit

ECID, and each reacts their own way....as an example, when Luna was on insulin I never saw systematic hypo signs, actual physical signs from the list.
If he was low, he would let me know by wanting food, real fast. They do seem to know when they are low/lower they need to eat NOW.
The lowest he ever went was in the 30's, again, no serious physical signs, just really hungry.

Have you thought about getting a timed feeder? They work very well for those beans who are not able to get up to feed during the nite.
Plus it will take care of the +9 snack so you don't have to get up.
And yes, I wouldn't feed 1 hour before shot is due, but you know that!
