Lantus question: TID dosing?

So I'm thinking about how long the Lantus lasts, and how the dosing seems to be done twice a day. Visually, I get a picture like a running bond pattern in brick laying, sort of like this, only evenly overlapped 50%.

I've observed that some folks may still get wide swings on bid dosing, depending on the particular cat.

And the questions is: is anybody doing a 3 times a day, every 8 hours to attempt to smooth out the more extreme curve? That is, each dose overlaps by 1/3, so that after consistent dosing for a period, the amount in effect is roughly 1/3 from every shot?

There are some people who use a TID method but it's just not possible for most people.
If you work full time, you can't do TID; I am gone almost 12hrs on work days, so I barely get along with the BID.
People who work 12hr shifts, have to make other adjustments.

There are a few dosing TID. You will get more responses from them if you put something like TID dosing into your subject line.

I love your brain. Thinking out side the square. We went thru a stage of this bothering us (DH & me). i.e. LB's numbers high in the morning and the evening; quite low during the day. Even more confusing was that LB tended to eat lots of little meals during the day and not be as high at the pre shot reading for the morning shot...... when he'd gone all night with one meal at 5am (ish). If you take a look at his chart (swap it to WORLD) for colour, where you will see how high he was from the 26th sept - 9th Oct in the morning. Why was this I wondered. By this stage PMPs were getting quite acceptable. Some time around then we changed to a new vial. At that stage he seems to have taken a turn for the better and both morning bg results and evening bg results have come down and he's evening out and coming down on dosage. Someone here told me it's important to get their numbers consistently low. You may find if you are someone who can give lantus 3 times a day at 8 hr intervals that you can speed up the healing process of the pancreas. I'm really wow'd our the recent results. It's just so exciting. But I also changed LB's again diet recently - which may be helping him too.

There are cats that are on a customized, TID dose schedule. However, these are cats that have tried the BID dosing protocol for quite some time -- literally months -- and not been able to get the necessary duration. If this is something you're asking about because you're thinking that it may be a good strategy for Spitzer, it's way too soon to even consider TID dosing. If you're asking in theory, the answer is yes, it's done but not often.

Just my brain working overtime.

If I had to, I could come home mid-day to do dosing on the 8s ... but that'd mean a really strict sleep schedule for me, which would be problematic as I have a sleep disorder and shorting my sleep results in nap attacks during the day.

Most people can't accommodate a TID schedule. All you need is one shot that needs to be stalled and your entire schedule heads into the dumpster. You would also need to totally rethink spot checks.
