Hi All,
I'm not new to Feline Diabetes, my 13 year old has been in remission for about 8 months now so I haven't been on here in awhile. I home test her regularly (avg. weekly) and she's consistently been between 40-60 each week. She was completely Fancy Feast until my other cat was diagnosed with weak kidney and I had to change food to something they both could eat. We switched to Friskies Special Diet and that seemed to make everyone happy until a day or so ago when diabetic kitty quit eating! This is very uncharacteristic for her.
Here's what I posted on FB....
I have a dilemma and any suggestions are welcome! My 13 year old diabetic (in remission) is refusing to eat. This is a first, since this girl LOVES food! She's the bully of the group and will force herself into their food just to eat all of it. About a month ago I had to change foods from Fancy Feast to Friskies (for another one of my cats who was recently diagnosed with kidney issues). Diabetic kitty actually seemed to prefer Friskies over FF. Yesterday, I noticed that she isn't eating and is very lethargic. I tried giving her FF again but she's not eating that either! I'm really worried since this is sooooo not like her! Very uncharacteristic. Thoughts?
