Good Morning!

I am taking Kitty to my vet today to get her bloodwork rechecked. I have no idea what my expectations are from the vet visit, but I am hoping for some improvement in her kidney numbers. She still is isolating herself from the other kitties and I know she does not feel well. Yesterday her midshot preshot was 567- high again, and due to tid, this is actually a +8 reading. I gave fluids last night and her PM preshot was 365. There was some improvement this morning in her AM preshot-- 211, this might be positively influenced by the fluids. I am not sure what the future holds, but I want to take care of her and help give her the highest quality of life possible. She really is a trooper, so I will not be gloom and doom about her condition until I know more. My hopes are that the kidney values will improve and that the ptitis is her biggest problem at the present time.

Now to my little man, Chewy!
+90 107!!!
I keep hoping that he will dip into the greens, but for now I am happy with his progress. Obviously, I cannot shoot these numbers, but is it fair to assume that he can be diet controlled in the low 100s? Most of the cats that I have witnessed that have gone OTJ, have been in green numbers-- not low blues. Thoughts?

He feels so GOOD! He is running around and playing with the catnip mice--I can't believe his improvement in 5 weeks!

Wishing Everyone a Great Day from the Alley...............

Kim,
Sorry Kitty isn't feeling well and I hope you see some improvments in her blood work!

Great news about Chewy! Glad he's feeling frisky. Sorry, I don't know how to answer your question about blues vs greens, but if he stays in the blues, then maybe that's good enough?

Sorry Kitty still is not feeling well, hopefully you'll get good news today. Yay for Chewy, though!

I think he will go OTJ as well, it will just take a bit longer to get him down in the greens. Most of the microdosers who got their cats down there did it by aggressively shooting numbers that were a little lower than most people feel comfortable shooting, rising 150's and such. If you miss those tiny opportunities to shoot, then you have to just wait it out until the cat regulates on his own. You didn't get many chances to intervene with Chewy, he sure likes to hang in the low blues!!!

Paws crossed for Kitty to get better and good news on the bloodwork.

I think some people have run in the low blues but I don't know if that is considered remission although 107 is a non diabetic number.

Have a great in the Alley.

Kim, I hope the vet has nothing but GOOD news for you & Kitty. I will be thinking about you today. Post a update when you get back. :YMHUG:

Chewy here is a :RAHCAT for you!

I've been thinking of Cool Kitty, I hope you will get some good news and that Kitty will feel better soon.
Looks like her BG's are coming down, maybe from fluids?
I have been keeping Kitty in my prayers and added her to my reiki healing grid.
Chewy's doing awesome!
How's Sally these day

Any news from the vet? I do hope Kitty is on her way to feeling all better!

And, Chewy - well, what can I say, but HOORAY!!!!

Sorry to worry all of you, but thanks for the concern!

The vet repeated the bloodwork today, but she sent it off to Idexx to get a more comprehensive evaluation--so, we will not have the results until tomorrow. I was very concerned about the kidney values, but the vet was not concerned with them and never mentioned them. Her concern was over the high lipase reading. I know that lipase is a pancreatic enzyme and is "normally" elevated with a pancreatitis flare up, but this time the reading is extremely high. My vet is a friend, and I could tell form her demeanor that she was very concerned about Kitty. She continually avoided directly answering my questions regarding the lipase reading. Finally, I asked her directly if it could be an indicator of something more serious, and she said yes...cancer.

In my heart, I think that it is pancreatitis. But, I also realize that it could be something more serious.

For the present time, I do not know what is going on with Kitty. I just know that she does not feel well, though she did eat her entire can of FF tonight!

I never thought I would be wishing for a pancreatitis dx--- BUT, I am! So, hopefully tomorrow we will get better news and the bloodwork will be better and point away from a serious problem.

I will keep you updated. I do know that you all care and I Thank You for that!

I think Thumper always has a high lipase reading. Isn't that fat in the blood? Heck I don't know, I get confused easy, it's the blondeness coming through! I know they said she needs a low fat diet. I also thought with cancer their BG would drop?

Keeping you & Kitty in my thoughts & prayers.

Holding you guys in love and light! Hoping for the best possible news!

Kim, keeping you and your furry and feisty soul mate in my prayers. You're a great mom and she's so obviously a warrior princess!
