Christina & King Chuck

I haven’t been on here because I honestly lost hope that King Chuck’s cyberknife was successful. After treatment in August Chuck’s insulin needs dropped immediately following the procedure, but they began to rise again and he was on almost 11 units of tresiba. It was upsetting but I figured something was going right though because his frequent sneezing and ravenous hunger stopped. He also started playing with his brother again and was overall in a better mood.
Randomly around November 20th his numbers began to drop from the 300s down to the 100s and even 80-90s. At first I decreased his insulin .25 - .5 units at a time but his BG drops were significant so at some points I was decreasing 1-2 units at a time. Even with frequent snacks he was ending up in the 70s. I don’t always have the ability to check his BGs throughout the day so I’m playing it very safe with insulin dosing. Right now he’s on 4.5 units and I think we’ll stay here for a bit since his numbers are pretty consistent in the 120-150 range. I’ll keep the spreadsheet updated as we navigate Chuck’s changing insulin needs but overall things have been going well. Yay!
