Jeddie on prozac

It has been almost 3 weeks since he started on prozac (since I started him on it, I should say). He peed on the door frame the next day, but nothing since then (knock wood, anti jinx!). He did have several days of weirdness at about a week where he seemed to go all aggressive on the other cats. That's one of the side effects in cats. He got too rough with both of the girls when playing tag and I watched him walk right up to Beau and smack him in the face. He also really almost fought to not be tested and I got some big scratches on my hands and arms .But that all seems to have settled away now.

In fact, the other night I had him on the right foot of the bed, Charlotte on the left foot and Beau in about the middle of the bed. I had barely any room to sleep and sort of threaded myself between them all. I woke up a few hours later (stupid to drink a cup of tea before bed) and thought Charlotte had gone away. When I came back to bed, I realized that Jeddie had two heads. And they were washing each other! She had gotten so close to him that she almost totally disappeared in his fur. At least at night and without my glasses on....

So, I called the vet today to get a script for him. I have one tablet left - 4 days worth. I didn't tell her I already started him on it. I just told her why I wanted it and that I had talked to "some people" that insisted that it would work. She is giving me a month's supply. Not charging me for it. Apparently, someone donated it to the practice so she is giving me the pills to see if they work. I know, I am a big liar, but I figure I can only go so far with her in diagnosing and treating my cats on my own and, sort of, dictating to her their treatment. I might be wrong. She is very easy going and knows that I know what I am doing - and I think knows I will bring them in when I don't.

So, thanks Lynda! I truly am amazed and hope it continues to help. We'll see what happens when I go to the house in MI again in Oct. That seems to really upset him.

As an aside, I tested him at +7 today and he was 77. I am slowly lowering the dose since the 39 a few weeks ago.
