I think (hope) I have resolved Jake's chronic diarrhea problem. I think he might have an issue with turkey. Sometime ago, he started having diarrhea when he ate Fancy Feast Turkey and Giblets so I switched him to canned Wellness Turkey and canned Wellness Chicken assuming that Wellness was a better quality of food. As it turned out, Jake was eating more of the turkey variety of the Wellness and eventually started having diarrhea again. He had an exam about a month ago, nothing could be found for sure, but he was put on Flagyl for possible IBD issues. The flagyl worked for a while before we were right back to where we started. Then the "turkey" thing dawned on me. For the past five days I have been giving Jake canned Wellness Chicken only and he has not had any loose stools/diarrhea. I have heard of a kitty having an allergy to chicken, but not with turkey. In Jake's case, it look like he has an allergy to turkey. Coincidence? Don't know for sure, but it sure looks like it. Anyone else's cat allergic to turkey?

My cat is (possibly) allergic to chicken. I haven't heard of a turkey allergy, but he certainly could have one.
On the FF Turkey and Giblets -- is that a pate, or a chunk or shred-style catfood? My cat prefers pate', and I'd love to know before I buy some.

Thanks.
J.

It is a pate, is less than 10% carbs, and does not contain wheat gluten. It is a good choice for a diabetic kitty unless of course, he/she (by chance) is allergic to it!
