Hello to our LL friends,
Yes, time flies at the falls. Jake has now been in offical remission for 2 months. Seems hard to believe it was not that long ago, in February 2010, that he was fighting for his life when DKA developed and lingered - pretty tough situation especially for an "older gent" of now 18 years and 2-1/2 months. Jake's last insulin was just days before his 18th birthday on May 1st - what a great birthday gift!
But the greatest gift was you guys literally saving his life - getting him out of the vet clinic and to an ER - and subsequently helping to guide him into remission. Jake is doing very well. BGs well within normal range - about 80 to 90 before he eats and about 65 after he eats. That darn pancreas is working just fine these days!
We don't know where we would be without you - thank you, thank you, thank you!
