She most definitely has very bad teeth. The vet doesn’t think she has an abscess or infection. I don’t want to put her under for a dental. She’s VERY sensitive to any sort of anesthesia and she’s 16.5 years old. She had surgery for a horrible ear infection/ ruptured ear drum about 7 years ago and the anesthesia messed her up for over a week. It took a long time for her to be her normal self again. Just giving her half a chill pill to go to the vet affects her for days. I have a vet come to my home because of it. She did just finish a 14 day round of Amoxicillin for bronchitis/ asthma. The vet thinks she has just simply relapsed. I will keep a very close eye on her after her first insulin dose. So nervous tho.I'm sorry to see this turn of events.

I presume you've done all the usual stuff - rule out dental problems, other health issues as a cause for less than stellar numbers?

I picked up her Lantus this evening and will give her her first shot in the morning at 11:00am. I will definitely need a bit of help setting up a new SS, thank you!! I think SLGS will be best for us/Insulin won't have an impact on an infection. It'll just help control her BG's as you get the infection (if one exists) under control.
When one is coming back from remission, a couple things to look for. First, the fastest you can get her back into regulation, the higher the chances of a getting into remission again. So you might have to be a bit more aggressive this time. Could you put the dosing method you are following, TR or SLGS, onto your signature so we can help guide you better. Second, the insulin dose may have to go higher than the first time, so don't let the size of the dose factor into things. The BG's are the important numbers.
For ease of viewing the numbers on the SS, we like to have a different tab per year to reduce the amount of scrolling. I'll tag Bhoome @Bandit's Mom to see if she can help you with this. Also, not sure why you've got the World tab on there.
