I raised his dose again this morning.
Should I be feeding him as much as he wants? Will he ever get full?
Before diagnosis, each of my cats was getting 1 can of Fancy Feast and 1/2 can of Friskies per day. So, maybe 165 calories each, and Jackson is a 14 pound boy.
Now, Jackson is getting 1/2 can of Fancy Feast 5 to 6 times a day, so I think that is 225 to 270 calories a day.
I think giving him the extra food with lots of added water each meal, helped to get rid of the ketones.

The kitties eat lots of freeze dried treats everyday. I called and am expecting some free samples of Young Again Zero Mature and Young Again Limited Ingredient, they're just taking a long time getting here.

Every meal, he eats his food, and then licks Sabrina's bowl clean, and then jumps onto the kitchen counter to see if there's any empty cans to lick (I try to wash them out right away, but he still gets up there). At least he's not getting into the garbage.

He begs and tries to get me to feed him between meals.
I do give him
a little multivitamin treat once a day, and if he is sneezing a lot I will give him an L-Lysine treat which stops the sneezing instantly for some reason. I am hoping to use the Young Again as a treat when he's begging, as they are going through the freeze dried treats like crazy.

I tried the chicken thighs which they loved, but just added the meat to their meals.
I put the broth in little 1/2 cup tuperware and froze them, but am afraid of thawing them out and then being out too long.
How long can the chicken broth be okay to give when it's in the refrigerator?
I want to give them the broth warm (in place of the water mixed in their food), not cold with the chicken fat floating on top.

It seems that the more insulin I give him, the higher his BG gets.
I was giving him 1/2 can of Fancy Feast pate three times per cycle.
Today, I changed to 1 can at PS and 1/2 can twice after that per cycle.
I have not weighed him lately. I will soon. He's a wiggle worm on the scale.
I'm glad he's acting fine, except wanting food all the time.

When I want to weigh Corky or Coco, I first weigh myself, then I pick one of them weigh myself again, then subtract my weight from theirs

If you look at Corky’s SS and scroll to the left you can see when, what and how much I feed him, to get an idea, he eats all and never hungry and keeps his insulin in check

I have an infant scale. I don't think I could see very accurately all the way down to my bathroom scale, especially with him in my arms.

So, I guess I have some extra stress lately. At my dentist appointment last night I found out I have to have another crown, and my car was making a slight rubbing? noise on the way there which got worse as I got closer to home. This morning I am filling out a form for jury duty. Jackson's numbers are consistant in high pinks.

For better news: His ketones are negative. When I weighed him this morning before AMPS, the scale fluctuated back and forth between 14lb 5.5oz, 6.5oz, and 7.0oz, so I chose 14lbs 6.5oz. His last weight was 14lbs 6oz on 01/20.

Yesterday I upped his PS feedings to 1 whole can instead of 1/2 can of Fancy Feast.
This morning he ate all that, licked his bowl clean, made sure Sabrina's bowl was clean as a bell, and then jumped up on the counter to try to see if there were any cans to lick, went back to his bowl to see if there was anything more in there. He is always hungry.

Can anyone share with me a shreadsheet that looks like Jackson's where the cat is in yellows and pinks and then pinks and reds with a dose increased from 0.5 to almost 4 units in less than 4 weeks? I could use some encouragement.. thanks.

Tomorrow I will increase to an even 4 units.
Because, my car sounds like it is going to fall apart, and is so embarassing. It is making so much noise when I drive it. The mechanic tonight said it needs new brakes, and I will spend my Saturday afternoon getting it fixed.

Thus, I'm being a little conservative with the dose increase as I will be at the mechanic's at +5 onwards. The last time (a few weeks ago) it took them 3 days to fix my car, and I was without a car. I feel I need the car in case of an emergency.
I am not taking that chance again.

My kitties got a really good treat tonight. I had cooked some chicken thighs and froze the last one. It was defrosted and reheated, and they are really happy munching down.

Oh, I really needed to wake up to that yellow number 🥹 I had to check it twice.
Thank you God! 🩷

This one is just one of many I could find: Nico's SS. Any cat that needed a higher dose of insulin and seeing over 300, and following TR would have larger increases over a shorter period of time. If I was to keep hunting, I'm sure I could find more examples of spreadsheets. You just keep increasing per the protocol, until you hit that dose that gives you a breakthrough.

Speaking of TR, are you thinking of feeding the Young Again? It's dry food, which means you'll have to switch to SLGS for dosing if you start feeding it regularly. TR requires an all low carb wet or raw diet. Regarding calories, Neko was 14-14.5 lbs and got about 220-230 calories per day. Calories requires is not based on just size of cat, but also metabolism and activity levels. And where they fit compared to their ideal weight, do they need to lose or gain weight.

Thank you Wendy. If you come across any more in your day to day, please share them with me. I so appreciate it. 💖
Right now, Jackson is getting 4 cans of Fancy Feast pate a day, so about 360 calories.
I do think I see some muscle wasting on him as he looks a bit thinner on his top line, but is staying at the weight he's been at for a long time. Knock on wood.
He used to go outside and chase squirrels and roam around the neighborhood until a year ago, when I stopped it. Now he doesn't go outside. He used to chase Sabrina behind the couch all day, until they became buddies around Thanksgiving, and now ne only plays (wrestles) with her a little, so he doesn't have as much activity in his life.

I only received small samples of the Young Again and was planning to use them as treats. I have given both cats about 5 kibbles twice now as treats, and they loved them so. They haven't had any crunchies since Jackson's diagnosis, and they used to get small handfuls (throughout the course of a day) of cat treats daily.
I forgot about the TR rule of no dry food. I want to stay with TR at least for now.
I have a lot of beef, chicken, and salmon freeze dried treats. They used to love them a lot, but I thought they were getting used to them, so wanted to try something new.

If you can, try to avoid carbs after his nadir. After that, the insulin is wearing off and extra carbs may make it wear off even faster. Giving you higher preshots.
