Hi. I have a 17 year old female cat named Bonnie. Never had this problem with any of my four previous cats. Will read all the information. Ordered the glucose monitor seen pictured on this site. About to start tomorrow.

What a pretty girl! I'm also really new, but there's a lot of good information here, and people are so knowledgeable and helpful. Two things that I found really helpful were the FAQ here and and the information on the spreadsheet. You might also want to make sure to include info in your signature like in mine so people can access it quickly!
 
Hello and welcome to you and extra sweet Bonnie. Can you tell us a bit about how you discovered she was diabetic? What food is she eating now? And lastly (for now) what treatment are you starting her on. OK, one last question, how can we help you?
 
Thanks. A lot was going on with Bonnie. I wasn't watching out until it became very clear that she was drinking a lot and producing lot of urine in her box. She was still friendly and purring but I thought she looked thinner. I took her in for her annual. She was 483 on the blood work the vet took. She always had a combo of wet and dry food. Big mistake on my part. She is now totally off the dry food. On Lantus and using the Contour next gen listed as a choice on the FD.com website. Bonnie is a senior citizen 17 YO. Thanks for the information. Still reading.
 
Nothing magical about the Fancy Feast pates. It's fairly inexpensive and low carb and most cats like it. But rather higher in phosphorus should your kitty have any kidney issues.
