This is the first time I get in contact . I'm a Brazilian cat owner worried about the possibility of his becoming a diabetic cat. for a while he is taking oral madication "glipizida" . His doctor insists on trying it before starting using insuline(lantus glargina). She firmily believes that it's necessary not to go sraight to insuline. Why do I say a possibility? Because it all started when he begun to treat his intestinal disease, taking cortisona ( prednisolona) and after almost two weeks his glicosis started to go up. His maximum has been 300 and the minimum 228 taking 5mg each 12 hours. We are about to start cortisone and it makes me nervous .
I also have Juanita( a 9-year-old female Persian). She is a pkd cat. Can you see may situation? At the moment the two of them are facing crisis. She is better now. She had cristals that fell down from the kidney and almost avoided the passage of the urine. When I noticed her "anorexia" I run to the vet and started the strugle for Juanita's life. She is doing very well .The last images have shown the cristal almost reaching her bladder.
If you undestand you help me, please, may me we can share important experiences.
goodbye
