Sorry for being spotty with my responses its been a little busy between meds, insulin, and syringe feeding. I'm getting whatever I can get into her trying to give her 3 5ml syringes of food/water slurry every hour. but needless to say she's not a fan so I figure 2/3's of that makes it in. Would mirlax dehydrate her more, I've heard some laxatives aren't wise to give when dehydrated because it can worsen the condition.

Yes, miralax pulls water from the body into the stool, which is why when you give it you have to dilute it in as much water as possible. Either in a syringe slurry or in a canned food “soup” if your cat is hungry enough to finish it (you can also syringe feed the soup).

That's what I was thinking, might get some tomorrow I only have 15 minutes until I need to test BG and syringe feed and its already just past 9 stores will be closing soon and hopefully she will be a little better hydrated.

he didn't seem too concerned
It's unfair of me to assume he wasn't concerned, he must have had his reasons. Digital X-rays can almost show too much but they can't show how hard the poop is, just that here's a lot. The reasons could be anything from inadequate poo gland production (why dogs need their glands squeezed) to something they swallowed that isn't obvious on an X-ray. We have a habit here of assuming some vets are borderline morons which is unfair. Mine are both good at explaining the vagaries of animal science but some have trouble putting words into pictures. Andrew swallowing a staple was easy, Hannah swallowing a bottle of Tums was not. As for the pink flecks I used to know a serious alcoholic who downed a bottle of Pepto Bismol before every binge. God only knows what his autopsy showed up.
I once had a cat who walked across my roommates not yet dry oil painting with no ill effects. Those bloody flecks may just disappear like the teenager who over did it one weekend and it never happened again.
For now just keep an eye on what she gets into (garbage or someone else's food?) and try and inspect her litter. We once had a 50 pound dog who could knock down a bear but if she had rawhide bones there was blood everywhere. Gastro Intestinal problems are hard to diagnose.
It's 2:30 AM here and if it's not obvious I'm slowly passing out. Broken ribs and a cluster headache will do that to you. I'll be up all night (when it's supposed to be dark, I don't know how you manage that) but if I start to babble and talk about aliens you'll know I'm to be ignored. Stupid aliens and their ray guns who ate my lawn!
I did grow up at the 54th latitude so we have something in common other than Kodiak bears.

You get used to the summer midnight sun, it really just helps make up for the almost unending nights come winter haha. I’ve never been into Canada but have alway imagined it to be almost identical to Alaska all the way down to the people. But when it comes to her getting into stuff nothings impossible but it is somewhat unlikely. Plastic bag is a slight concern because she does like to lick them. If I was to venture a guess the stress, pain, and dehydration are probably why things don’t seem to be moving but you make a good point about the hardness. If she goes through the night without passing my next step will probably be a bit of Miralax.

The thread's title is "this is feeling like the end". I didn't put 2 and 2 together and realize she might not make it through the night so I'm really sorry. Now I know how tired I am and I'm sorry for not paying attention.
Your profile says you're 25 which means you might not haven't been through this before. I'm 65 and have only lost two in the middle of the night and only once was I not there. Do you have any BUPE? There's no reason she has to suffer through this and it's going to be a long night. I was lucky enough to get Noah nice and medicated before the end came and didn't have to argue with a vet about "alternative treatments" even though he was going for his last car ride the next morning.
Whether this is your first or your 20th it doesn't get any easier or any harder. Please tell me you're not going to work tomorrow.
On the plus side I have had cats that lived 15 years longer than expected and one that was missing for 88 days and is still here. It seems like you just got here so this is all so unfair. I've had my share of little miracles, I wish I could give you one right now.
Just for future reference I'm Dickson, Noah was the cat. If it's Oreo we're talking about I'll say what I always say but I always mean it. She knows you loved her and there's nothing to feel bad about.

+7 bg 230 I don't know when it'll be that time I think she can make it through tonight but I have done this one other time before. To me when they get the I'm here but not really there look its not typically a good indication but she's been here before so we'll see if we can bring her back up, I don't think she slept last night and I don't really think she's slept tonight, no poop yet. Gonna go back to sleep I actually wanted to get the +5 but overshot by 2 hours.

As long as there's no hiding in the closer pain she should be okay. Whether I'm next door or 1,000 miles away I cannot tell you and you've had her long enough to know if this is worth it. I can tell you last week Daniel was nearly at Death's Door but after a few very messy enemas he's like a kitten again. I don't know if you're 20 minutes from the vet or two hours down a gravel road and I know nothing about her prior medical history. It would be so wrong for me to give you medical advice and even more so since I wasn't a Lantus user. I really do wish I could say something useful but for now it's enough to know you're here because you care. I've been where you are now.
I do get to blame you for keeping me up all night, don't you feel just awful? We come here to make friends and it was impossible for me to ignore your plight while everyone else was sleeping.
Pretty soon I'm going to get medicated and slide/fall/crawl into bed like the doctor who's working on his golf game. I wish you both good luck and good health until we talk again.
You should maybe start a new thread to get the medical advice you need instead of my half asleep blathering. Sound good?

She made it through the night but condition is worsening. She got a couple ennimas (but didn’t poop) and was on IV fluids through the day, she’s home now, we’re giving her the night to possibly improve.
